WINE BROS

New from André Hueston Mack!

April 05, 2024  /  WineBros

Maison Noir Wines

Willamette Valley, Oregon

Maison Noir is a two-fold lifestyle project producing both a T-Shirt line and Oregon wines. Founded by sommelier André Hueston Mack in 2007, both ends of Maison Noir incorporate a trademark attitude and personal perspective on wine subculture. The wines are unique and distinctive garage wines, initially created for some of New York's best restaurants for whom Mack was a sommelier and now available nationwide. Maison Noir apparel is inspired by WINE LIFESTYLE/STREET CULTURE of the punk and hip-hop scenes while reminiscent of independent skateboard company apparel of the 1990s.

2022 'New Noir-Late' Orange Wine

50% Gewurztraminer, 28% Pinot Gris, 12% Riesling, 5% Muscat, and 5% Pinot Blanc

A skin contact “Northwest Edelzwicker” of sorts. Stone fruit potpourri, racy acidity with a sprinkle of molten salt! With Pinot Gris with extended skin contact, the 2022 vintage has a dark pink hue akin to an Italian Rosato.

2022 'Free Gamay' WV

100% Gamay

Free Gamay is a throwback to the days where Gamay was the workhorse of Burgundy, producing quality wines for a reasonable price. 100% Gamay Noir delivers the right amount of fruit to counterbalance the earthiness that the Willamette Valley champions year after year.

2022 'Gamma Ray' Gamay/Pinot Noir Blend WV

50% Pinot Noir, 50% Gamay Noir

Upholding the Burgundian tradition of blending Gamay Noir and Pinot Noir we are stoked to present “Gamma Ray” a 50/50 blend from the heart of the Willamette Valley. Bright and Juicy with lip-smacking cran-strawberry fruit, hints of Chinese Five Spice and leather. Ride the wave of ripe tannins on the finish.

2021 'P-Oui' Pinot Noir WV

100% Pinot Noir

2021 P-Oui (pee-wee) Yes-Pinot is the celebration of Pinot Noir taken from a cross section of vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley to make "One Pinot Under a Groove". Only bottled in half bottles to complement dining alone or enjoying a glass with a friend! Franken Berry jam session with Parliament-Funkadelics: complex, soulful, strawberry, funk.

New from Jeffrey Alpert Selections!

April 02, 2024  /  WineBros

Please welcome our newest office gal, Tracy! Since her arrival at The Wine Brothers she proudly 'overseas' operations in the office. Previously she was working exclusively with mermaid wine. Pictured are two brand new additions to our portfolio! If you ever stop in, please say hello to Tracy!

La Folle Berthe

Loire Valley, France

David Foubert, formerly a Paris journalist, moved to Saumur to study winemaking under Aymeric and Melanie, of Domaine Mélaric. He farms a mix of parcels leased from the recently retired Philippe Gourdon. The vineyards have been farmed biodynamically since 1998. The local Tuffeau (fossil-rich limestone) characterises the wines with a clay topsoil and Tuffeau underneath. In total he has 4 hectares of which he practices organic with some biodynamic principles.

2018 La Folle Berthe Amandiers

100% Chenin Blanc

The name La Folle Berthe (meaning crazy bear in french) comes from a pun on David’s last name...Foubert.

Notes of stone fruit and spice, with a good deal of texture. Made with no sulphite additions.

Château de Grand Pré

Beaujolais, France

Romain Zordain took over half of the family vineyards in 2012, the other half going to his talented cousin Yann Bertrand. Now certified organic since full conversion in 2009, Romain and his parents farm 8 hectares of old vines in Fleurie and Morgon. There is new life in Fleurie and Romain is squarely at the front of the pack, making fabulous, juice-driven wines that are a joy to drink and age exceptionally. Romain works with natural yeasts and is a master of the new-school of long, cool carbonic macerations favoured by Chauvet, Foillard and Lapierre amongst others.

2022 Château de Grand Pré Beaujolais Blanc

100% Chardonnay

The Chardonnay for this cuvée comes from Romain's friends vineyard in Blacé.

Refined, slightly “fat” and creamy white Beaujolais, with buttery notes alongside a slight almond touch. Rounded mouthfeel and silky finish with notes of ripe pear, lemon meringue, stone and quince.

Organic and biodynamic!

Aslina Wines
South Africa

As one of South Africa’s iconic winemakers, Ntsiki Biyela has forged a path to become a highly respected and widely admired name in the world of wine.

In 2016, she established Aslina Wines, inspired by the strength and determination of the biggest influence in her life, her grandmother.

Today Aslina is renowned for its range of premium wines and is the realisation of Ntsiki’s dream to create an exceptional world-class brand.

2016
Aslina
Méthode Cap Classique
“Ms. MC”
100% Chardonnay

This is just the second vintage of pioneering South African winemaker Ntsiki Biyela's foray into bubbles but "Ms. MC" (named after Ntsiki's greatest inspiration: her mother) does not suffer a sophomore slump. The wine spends 5 years in contact with the lees and shows a Champagne-worthy balance of tension and texture. Crisp orchard fruit notes rise to the top of a frothy base of creamy butterscotch.
