Introducing New Wines From Onward & Farmstrong!
**These are just a few of the new offerings we have from Onward & Farmstrong Wines!
Farmstrong 2015 Field White
The Farmstrong White Field blend is fragrant yet a little mysterious, a mélange of white peach, star fruit, Mirabelle plum and even a shiso/Meyer lemon tart. It’s fresh, vibrant and alive—a dancing lemon drop enjoyed under the light of a full moon. The 2015 is a blend of Grenache Blanc (41%) from Roger King’s Ledgewood Vineyard, Albariño(35%) from Babcock Vineyard, and Verdelho (24%) from Capp Inn Ranch all located in Suisun Valley.
Farmstrong 2015 Field Red
This wine fills the glass with aromas of dark fruit, pencil shavings, grilled bread and hints of freshly ground white pepper, which are complemented by flavors of black plums, preserves, cranberry and warm Okanagan cherry clafouti that’s been cooked in a cast iron pan. This is a blend from three sustainably dry farmed sites: 80+ years old Carignane from Hawkeye Ranch and 65+ year old Zinfandel from Knox Vineyard in Redwood Valley (53%), 120+ years old Carignane from Casa Roja Vineyard in Contra Costa (28%), Syrah from Ledgewood Vineyard in Suisun Valley (19%).
Onward 2017 Pétillant Naturel, Rosé of Pinot Noir
This Rosé of Pinot noir Pét-Nat is loaded with ripe summer berries, floral and citrus notes and is very alive! The opening aromatics explode from the glass, and are lively, fresh and mysterious. To follow are notes of strawberry fields, citrus blossom, warm brioche toast with lemon curd and juicy berries, a refreshing hint of mint, and tiny delicate bubbles!
This Pét Nat Rosé is 100% Pinot Noir from Redwood Valley in northern Mendocino. The Pinot clusters were gently pressed to retain aromatics and bright acidity, additional complexity was gained by soaking on the skins for 8 hrs before completing the pressing cycle.
Onward 2015 Malvasia Bianca
The broad range of aromas spans magnolia blossoms after a rain shower and fresh melon rind to Valencia orange peel and quince marmalade and warm feijoa crumble, the palate is plush with a soft silky texture. A skin-fermented wine, this is not an oxidative style but rather is enhanced by the aromatics and tannins in the skins, and maintains its sense of place and identity as the third sister in the group of Malvasia Biancas from Capp Inn Ranch.
