KAH Tequila
Jalisco, Mexico
“KAH” translates to “life” in the ancient Mayan language, and Day of the Dead, Día de los Muertos, in fact, is a celebration of lives lived.
The multi-day festival brings together family and friends to pray for and remember those they have lost. The customs are based on the belief that mourning and sadness are an insult to the deceased, and therefore, the lives they lived should be celebrated with the food, drink and activities they enjoyed while still alive.
KAH Blanco
The design of the KAH Blanco bottle is inspired by the Bolivian tradition of the Day of the Dead celebration in which actual skulls of loved ones are kept and brought out on November 8th of each year. After taking the skull to the cemetery, the skull is symbolically fed and given tequila, sometimes even cigarettes. Bolivians believe that this act immortalizes the dead who, in turn, help to protect the living from evil spirits.
KAH Tequila Blanco is a double distilled, un-aged Tequila made from 100% Blue Agave and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
Initially sweet but quickly followed with a peppery spice. Silky and delicate.
KAH Añejo
The black bottle design is inspired by the Nicaraguan tradition of Day of the Dead. In Nicaragua, in addition to the standard traditions of building a shrine and gift-giving, many people linger and sleep in the graveyard. They believe that this act re-enforces the emotional connection between them and the deceased.
KAH Tequila Añejo is made from 100% Blue Agave and is aged in American Oak casks for at least 12 months, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
Powerful agave flavor accompanied by chocolate, tobacco and coffee notes.
KAH Extra Añejo
KAH Tequila announces the debut of their aged expression, KAH Extra Añejo. This new release represents an evolution in KAH's portfolio, showcasing Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes's care and dedication to coaxing out higher levels of complexity in the agave. The result: an unforgettable distinctive aged spirit.
The bottle design features a unique clay bottle with deep royal green enamel. This hue symbolizes eternity and fruitfulness, representing the things that matter, back in Mayan times and today. Adding an extra layer of creativity, the bottle's label uses a special phosphorus ink, so the eyes within the Calavera skull and other decorative elements glow vibrantly in the dark.
KAH Tequila Extra Añejo is aged for a minimum of three years in American oak casks, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
KAH Tequila Extra Añejo features smooth pepper and smoky wood flavors with hints of sweet spice, vanilla, honey, maple and caramel.
