New Japanese beer!

November 20, 2023  /  WineBros

Kizakura Brewery

Kyoto, Japan

Kizakura is located in the Fushimi district of Kyoto, blessed with an abundance of underground spring water “Fushimizu”, ideal for making sake. Even the place name "Fushimi" is derived from the meaning of spring water. Kizakura has remained devoted to the tradition of sake brewing, aiming to bring delicious sake to customers. We have continued to develop many types of sake to suit the market needs.

Kizakura has been brewing craft beer “Kyoto Beer” since 1995. We have applied the skills and commitment developed through brewing sake to the microbrewing of beer. Our great fortune is a location blessed with an abundance of famous spring water. In a place like Fushimi, where producing quality sake is a given, our artisan brewers are devoted to creating unique beer with special flavor, using ingredients such as Yamadanishiki rice, Yuzu citrus, green tea, black beans or sake yeast.

New from Bosman Family Vineyards!

Bosman Family Vineyards

Wellington, South Africa

The Bosman Family have been vine growers in Wellington for 8 generations, their proud heritage forming the bedrock from which innovation and sustainability are a natural progression.

Grenache Noir

Spicy, fresh chillable Grenache, from a fabulous BIPOC woman winemaker in South Africa? Yes, please, to all of this! Founded in the 18th Century in South Africa, Bosman is in its 8-generation, now 26%-Black-owned, with Natasha Williams, a Black woman winemaker. Farming is certified organic, and the Grenache Noir for this wine comes from a single vineyard called Gesamentlike Wei (communal pasture). The maceration is super short - just 3 days - so the color is a pale, translucent ruby, begging the question, "rosé, or red?" But the palate is deeper and more structured than you'd expect, definitely not the average glou glou, but still quaffable and sprightly. Delicate raspberry, red plum and forest fruit with good acidity and soft tannins -- all good things for food pairing. Put a little chill on your bottle and drink with burgers, salmon or tacos.

New from Conde Valdemar

November 08, 2023  /  WineBros

Valdemar Estates
Rioja, Spain

Unusually for Rioja, all the Valdemar grapes come from the family’s own vineyards (almost 300 hectares), giving unrivalled control over the quality of the fruit at every level. The grapes for this wine came exclusively from the Alto Cantabria vineyard, planted in 1974 on limestone and sandy loam soils. In 2019 it was certified as a “Viñedo Singular” - a category that can only be achieved by those parcels with notable features of quality and distinction.

Bodegas Valdemar
Conde Valdemar
Finca Alto Cantabria
Viñedo Singular

100% Viura

A successful blend of modern fruit and traditional oak ageing: lemony, smoke- and vanilla-scented, with subtle aromas of peaches and apricot, and beautifully balanced. Complex and full-bodied, with a savoury and saline character characteristic of the limestone soil of Alto Cantabria. Long and very elegant aftertaste.
