Paetra Pinot Noir
Weinbau Paetra
Oregon
Weinbau Paetra (Vine-bau Pay-truh):
Weinbau is German for the craft of growing and producing wine. Paetra is from the Latin for "Rock".
The basis for all great wine is the soil from which it comes. Our wines are crafted by intensive hand-labor in the vineyard and a minimalist approach to cellar-work. "As little as possible, as much as necessary" is a fitting motto. We produce Riesling using traditional European techniques on American Soil.

Pinot Noir
Bednarik Vineyard
This old-vine, Biodynamically farmed Willamette Valley vineyard produced amazing fruit in 2021. The amazing depth of dark fruit was supplemented by 25% whole cluster, foot-stomped structure. The result is a powerful but balanced wine with classic Wadenswil blackberry and cherry fruit, dense structure, gritty tannins, and a bouquet of thyme, oregano, lavender and spice.

Pinot Noir
Wahlstrom Vineyard
This extremely low yielding, organic vineyard is planted on high terraces next to a dramatic basalt quarry. The flavors are as intense as the views from this site and the 115 clone brought flavors of blueberry, plum, baking chocolate, nutmeg and pine. It was vinified with native yeast, gently pressed and finished in neutral French oak. Supple with underlying power, this wine is best with duck breast and red meat off the grill.
